Plant Identifier is free to download and try on Android and iOS. Some features have usage limits or need a Premium subscription. You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in your Google Play or App Store account.

How accurate is the identification?

The app recognizes more than 25,000 plant species. Accuracy depends a lot on the photo: a sharp, well-lit picture of the leaves or flowers works best. The app also shows several best matches so you can compare. See our photo tips.

Can it tell me why my plant is sick?

Yes. The Diagnose feature analyzes a photo of the affected leaves or stems and suggests likely causes — such as overwatering stress, pests or disease — along with symptoms and treatment steps. Results are suggestions, not a guarantee, so watch how the plant responds.

Can I use it to decide whether a plant or mushroom is safe to eat?

No. Never eat a wild plant or mushroom based on an app identification. Many edible species have poisonous look-alikes. Always ask a qualified local expert. For pets, contact your veterinarian if you think they ate something toxic.

Which languages are supported?

Plant Identifier is available in more than 20 languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Arabic, Hindi, Russian, Turkish and Vietnamese.

What happens to the photos I take?
